19. July 2013: Restaurant Corney & Barrow

| July 29, 2013 | 0 Comments

The “Lime Rock Salt Pan Fried Norwegian Sea Trout, served with yellow pepper sauce, wilted spinach and buttered new potatoes” (GBP 13.95) was absolutely delicious – with one shortcomming. It was actually not sea trout but much more salmon! Still, the salmon was absolutely delicious with a very hefty salt crust a smooth and tender pepper sauce and tasty vegetables.

When I asked the waiter – when we were done eating – jokingly “since when is a sea trout a salmon” he apologized fiercely and did not bill my dish which I thought was a nice gesture (although I had not intended any reaction in this way). The service is friendly and helpful and the place is nicely furnished too. Prices are not cheap but fine – which also applies to the beverages (Aspall Dry Cider, 0,5L, GBP 5.00). If you want a place in the shadow, make sure to book your table in advance!
