30. August 2013: Restaurant Amanti

| September 11, 2013 | 0 Comments

Tasty home-made “aioli and olives” with bread is served while you are choosing your dishes from the menu – the menu is rather extensive and offers approximately 90 different dishes which makes a choice quite tricky, so I figured to give it a try a couple of times.

Once, I had the “Lasaña Boloñesa” (EUR 9.50) which was quite a portion and I must say, absolutely tasty. But not only that – it is also nicely prepared. You can easily taste that the owner of the place is an Italian!

One dish for which the place is famous for is the “Angus beef, 900gr for 2 persons” (EUR 23.00 per person) and I must say that the meat was aromatic but it had – for my personal taste – too much fat and nerves but I know I’m picky there. But at least the meat part was absolutely aromatic.

And – I never thought I’d say that – but the “grilled vegetables” tasted actually even better than the meat. I must say, they were prepared in a truly delicious way – nice grill taste and a great variety of different vegetables.

The French fries are fine, nothing special but serve their purpose. On the other hand, there is usually not much to expect from French fries.

The “Lomo de atún a la parrilla con aceite de oliva, finas hierbas y limón” (EUR 14.00) was definitely nice: good quality, good taste, even the potatoes (and I’m not a big fan of water-boiled potatoes) were tasty. Unfortunately, it was cooked a bit too long.

The “Créme Brûlée” (EUR 5.50) is definitely worth trying. It is aromatic and rich and the crust is nicely caramalized, but not only this dessert is tasty …

… also the “Mousse Amadeo (with black and white chocolate)” (EUR 5.00) is truly delicious. I must say, the white mousse au chocolate is fluffy and great in taste.

The last dessert in the row, a typical Italian one, “Tiramisu” (EUR 6.00) was absolutely tasty too. I must admit, although I am not a big fan of sweets, the desserts were truly great. Overall, the food is quite good – varying a bit but on a good level of quality. If they’d make sure that the tuna was a bit more raw for example, then I’d be happy to say: perfect food.

The prices are absolutely fair for what you get – actually, I dare saying, they are even a bit too low for what you get. The place itself is nicely located extremely close to the beach and is generally inviting (if there wasn’t this big red sign). But I talked to the owner and he assured me to change this for the next season. The service is absolutely good, very friendly, very helpful but sometimes not really that attentive which is kind of a pity as otherwise they do a great job!

In any case, I must say, it is worth going to the Restaurant Amanti (Italian for “lovers”) – nice place located right next to the shore, good service, very tasty dishes and absolutely fair prices!
