16. April 2010: Il Bar

The “Il Bar” is located at the top (7th floor) of the shopping mall “La Rinascente” at Piazza Duomo (therefore, reachable by the red metro line, stop Duomo station). In summer, you have the possibility to sit either inside or outside on the terrace from which you have a marvelous view right at the Duomo.

Also the inside of the bar looks quite nice as it is wide with a lot of open space and the bar is appealing as well.

The service is extremly friendly and helpful. Although the place was quite crowded, we were relocated at an other table with more space as soon as available (although it could have easily been filled with people queueing in line). To the drinks, we got served a little appetizer (1 for 2 people) and when we asked for an additional one, we were brought two more immediately.

The appetizer was nice and tasty, nothing special but for the fact being for free, one can’t really ask for more in a location that close to Duomo which is usually extremly expensive.

Also, the price for a bottle of wine and a mineral water ranging at just EUR 30.00 is absolutely decent looking at the quality of the wine, the atmosphere, the service of the waitress, and the free little appetizers offered.

All in all, the “Il Bar” is a nice place to go to and especially in summer, to have a look at Duomo to talk a break from walking around in Milan all day long.
