17. April 2010: Ristorante Caffé Milano
The Caffé Milano is located in the via Dante which is located between the Duomo and the Parco Sempione. It’s also easily reachable from the Duomo (red metro line), the Cairoli Castello (red metro line) or Dante Cardusio (red metro line) by foot. The via Dante is a big pedestrian area street with a lot of different stores on both sides and some cafés. One of these is the Caffé Milano. It already looks nice from the outside (not really the tables located outside but more the building and the entrance to the restaurant) and is even nicer from the inside. The restaurant is held in old wooden interior design with the charme of old-fashioned buildings.
The waiters are friendly and helpful, but it takes quite a bit until they come to take your order. The menu to choose from is big and you will find something for everyone.
I’ve had a Pizza Quattro Formaggi which was quite good. Only the brie wasn’t really melted properly but still acceptable.
My sister had a little incident with her pizza as she found a hair in the pizza which of course wasn’t acceptable what we also told the waiter. Although he didn’t make any move towards offering us something or so, he apologized for the incident. Finally, when we got to pay the bill, the chief of service came to our table and told us that the coffee has been offered to us to make up for the incident.
Although this was unpleasant overall, the offer was appropriate and made it up to us. Furthermore, it must be said that the food in general was okay and there was nothing to complain about. The restaurant’s interior is nice and overall, the service is friendly.
