21. October 2013: Restaurant Hochmann’s
What is interesting if you have lunch at the newly opened restaurant Hochmann’s is the fact that there is bascially no choice when it comes to picking the lunch menu – it is just “take it or leave it”. Well, the options given, we went for “take it” and it started with a a “pumpkin soup” which is quite aromatic, refined with pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil – it is not only aromatic but has also a nice slightly thick consistency which is definitely making the soup a very tasty start for lunch.
The main course “schnitzel au nature with rice” (EUR 8.50 for both courses together) was fine too – the Schnitzel was well spiced, the quality of the meat was quite fine too and the rice was – well, rice. Overall definitely not anything amazing to be honest but definitely enjoyable for a quick lunch. When it comes to the speed of service I must say that the soup was served pretty much within a few minutes which is pleasant. The waiter took his time though for the next course and was also not rushing when we were still talking after finishing our main.
The place itself is nothing extraordinary – it is simply furnished but nice. The service is good and dedicated. It is not rushing you but delivers in time – very appropriate. The prices are absolutely fine too, given you can actually eat for EUR 8.50 and both courses are tasty, it is definitely recommended to go to Restaurant Hochmann’s for lunch.
