9. November 2013: Restaurant East To West
The “fried wantan with home-made filling” (EUR 4.30, respectively EUR 3.01) was not the amazingly promising start but definitely a sound one.
The “crispy duck with bamboo shoots and mushrooms” (EUR 11.50, respectively EUR 8.05) was nicely crispy and quite a portion.
The egg fried rice which came with it complemented it perfectly and the mushrooms and bamboo shoots provided it with the correct amount of healthiness. Overall it was a very sound and tasty dish.
The service is fair – within a reasonable amount of time the dishes are brought to your table but the waitress makes a face as if she has the worst job in the world. Not really a way to make your customers feel welcome. Also, she forgot to deduct the 30% of the Delinski booking – and only when I made her aware of it she corrected it. Other than that flaw, the place is nice – the food is good, the Calpis (0,5L, EUR 4.00, respectively EUR 2.80) was tasty as always and the atmosphere is okay. Frankly, the dishes are good but overall the restaurant just lacks in atmosphere and the service was definitely not too great.
