23. April 2010: Restaurant New Mayflower

| April 24, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Restaurant New Mayflower is located in Soho between Piccadilly Circus (Bakerloo line or Piccadilly line) and Leicester Square (Northern line or Piccadilly line). It is easily reachable by foot.

The restaurant doesn’t look to appealing from the outside and the pictures doesn’t change much once you’re inside. The place has one big advantage though which has to be clearly mentioned here: It is open till 4 am and offers food (which seems – depending on the area you’re in – to be quite challenging to get).

The friendlyness of the waiters is in general quite okay but they get unfriendly towards the end of the dinner – as they want to reassign the table, they almost throw you out which is very annoying.

The first dish – we had a platter with appetizers – was quite good and it offered a variety of different things to eat and they were good and totally enough. So, you won’t be unsatisfied with regards to the amounts offered.

The main dish which was beef with vegetables and egg fried rice was enjoyable too but not as good as the starter platter.

The food of the place is good, but not too special. The waiters are friendly first and get unfriendly towards the end, finally, the atmosphere is nothing special at all but it offers one major advantage: It’s open long (till 4 am)! The price you pay is decent for what you get (as in general it’s cheap but this is maybe bias by the hungryness of the author at the time).
