24. April 2010: Restaurant Mahal
The Restaurant Mahal is located close to Hyde Park in the Edgware road which is reachable either from the metro stop Marble Arch (Central line) or from the metro stops “Edgware Road” (Bakerloo line, Circle line, District line and Hammersmith & City line).
The restaurant has a nice interior design, somehow fashionable with a lot of modern art paintings at the walls and the whole atmosphere makes you feel somewhat comfortable.
The waiters are nice and helpful, but a bit stressy as they don’t let you too much time to decide what dish to order. The menu to choose from is quite large and there’s a good variety of dishes and side-dishes so you’ll need your time to choose unless you’re very familiar with Indian food.
Once you’ve ordered your food it doesn’t take long until you get your drinks and the food which is quite good. Compared to my Indian food experience in Milan, it’s good to see that there is actually enough food for one to be filled.
The prices are decent as well and appropriate for what you get. All in all, the Mahal is a good restaurant for a quick lunch/dinner with good food, decent service, acceptable atmosphere for reasonable prices.
