24. April 2010: Bar Maroush Deli

| April 25, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Maroush Deli bar is located close to Hyde Park in the Edgware road which is reachable either from the metro stop Marble Arch (Central line) or from the metro stops “Edgware Road” (Bakerloo line, Circle line, District line and Hammersmith & City line).

The bar looks okay from the outside as it offers shelter from the wind and it looks somewhat cozy. But on the other hand, you’re located close to a quite busy street (Edgware road) and it’s quite noisy. Furthermore, there is no possibility to actually sit inside, so you’re obliged to sit outside.

Nevertheless the not so optimal atmosphere, the place is nice as you have the possibility to smoke shisha (waterpipe) outside where they offer a wide variety of different tobacco (double apple is great). The waiters are nice and helpful, providing you with new coal over and over again if you ask for it.

What is a bit disappointing though is the selection of drinks offered: no alcoholic drinks at all and the “fresh juices” are quite okay but I wouldn’t really call them that fresh. Maybe that’s better if you come there before midnight.

The price is decent, as you pay around 20£ for a waterpipe and two juices. The Maroush Deli bar is a nice place to enjoy the evening by smoking a shisha looking at people and cars passing by. It’s maybe not the optimal place to enjoy from an atmospheric point of view, but it’s great to just relax.

The Maroush is a company which has several places in Edgware road and there are quite a few which look much nicer from the outside (they were just always already fully packed when we tried to smoke a shisha …).
