25. April 2010: Restaurant Le Pain Quotidien

| April 26, 2010 | 0 Comments

The restaurant “Le Pain Quotidien” is located in the Covent Garden area (an area full of artists, having a nice little market offering all kinds of stuff) which is reachable by a footwalk from the metro stop “Covent Garden” (Piccadilly line). The restaurant looks nice from the outside as the location within the market of Covent Garden is already favourable and when you look through the windows it looks like a little French bistro.

This impression is confirmed once you’ve entered the place. I’d recommend you to go upstairs as there the interior design all held in wood is absolutely nice. It is a bit small and you won’t find large tables but this even strengthen the impression of cozyness.

The waiters are friendly and serve you within minutes with what you’ve ordered. Furthermore, they’re not being picky about with whom you actually place your order as everybody seems to be responsible for any table – very practical from a guest’s point of view!

We’ve enjoyed a brunch and the possibility of dishes you can choose from is quite immense. The food which is offered is absolutely tasty. I’ve had a tartine with tuna as a first brunch plate which was quite tasty (it needed a bit pepper and salt though).

What is somehow a highlight is the bread basket. Not that bread in itself is something really outstanding but the variety of different slices of bread offered for the price (around £4.50) is absolutely great. Furthermore, you can find different kinds of jam and something like Nutella on your table so you can actually put different stuff on your bread. What you should definitely try besides the bread basket are the fresh fruit juices – they’re just great!

The price for a brunch at Le Pain Quotidien is absolutely reasonable as well! Le Pain Quotidien is the perfect place to go and have brunch on a Sunday morning, enjoying the environment, the cozyness of the place itself, the great food and all this for a reasonable price. It’s also recommended to walk a bit through covent garden to digest as there are a lot of artists and comedians – and they will make you laugh, I promise!
