23. January 2014: Restaurant hidden kitchen

| January 28, 2014 | 0 Comments

I have been to the Restaurant hidden kitchen before and already then, I was not really impressed by their food. Well, nothing has changed over the last three months. I had a “bacon quiche” with “baby salad, grapes and mozzarella” (EUR 8.70) which I considered quite a clear rip-off for the amount of food served, the skimpy quiche was especially overpriced. Still, the quiche had a strong bacon flavour and the salad was okay.

The place is somehow atmospheric, though to be honest – very simple. It has the vibe of a staff canteen rather than a restaurant. It is lively, offers an alternative to contemporary Viennese restaurants and is comfortable. The service is fair: you have to queue to order your food and get served whenever it is your turn. Overall though, it was not a pleasant experience. The hidden kitchen staff is best off hiding.
