7. March 2014: Restaurant Exer
I read about the Restaurant Exer about three years ago for the first time and it took me quite some time to finally visit it and had the chance to have lunch there. As a starter, I had a “parsnip soup” which was part of the menu and I must say that it was definitely a very compelling and tasty start for lunch – especially the slightly sweet hint was a great surprise.
As a main dish, I had “perch strips with tartare sauce and salad” (CHF 23.00) which were aromatic and nicely crispy. The tartare sauce is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Even the salad was fresh with an aromatic sauce.
Veronika, the owner who was also the waitress that day, talked me into trying this typical Czech dessert – Marlenka (CHF 7.00). Marlenka consists of honey and some other ingredients and – as you already know as a frequent reader of this blog – I am usually not into sweets but this is absolutely mouth-watering. Sweet honey taste with powdered sugar – incredibly tasty.
The dishes at the Restaurant Exer are truly great – I must say for that price I haven’t had such great lunch in a while. And this is even true for the beverages (e.g. double espresso, CHF 6.00). And besides that the place is actually nice too – very simple indeed but cute. And last but not least, Veronika is a great owner and waitress. Dedicated, passionate, friendly. Only at the end when she was trying to make us almost promise to come again that was a bit too much. Else: just great!
