26. March 2014: Restaurant La Brochette
The small salad which comes with the main course is a very average salad with industrially produced sauce – it fills your stomach but definitely nothing beyond that. But then again the restaurant was recommended to me for its Cordon Bleu …
… and the “large pork cordon bleu” (CHF 28.50) is definitely a fine piece of meat. But to be honest, it did not really live up to my expectations. It was good, big, tasty, but it just lacked this kind of special element I was expecting when I was told that the cordon bleu is supposed to be very tasty.
The “risotto” which is served with the cordon bleu was fine – not entirely persuading but a fine sidedish. Overall, for a quick lunch and the price you’re charged for the food the place is absolutely fine but frankly, I have had better cordon bleus before.
The place is rather simple and only limitedly appealing, the service is friendly but not really that attentive. So, overall, I would probably not go again.
