15. May 2014: Apples Bar @ Park Hyatt

| May 21, 2014 | 0 Comments

The Apples Bar in the Park Hyatt hotel is not easy to find at first as it is located on the second floor of the hotel and you have to pass the reception to finally end up at the bar. When you enter the bar the first thing you see is basically a huge smoking chamber (which looks nicely furnished) and provides a good smell of cigars. Going a bit further, you end up at the bar which is nicely and invitingly decorated. The drinks they serve are good too – I went for one of their signature drinks called “Shot The Ginger” (EUR 12.00) which was rich, aromatic and refreshing.

While the place is nice, the prices are fair, the drinks are good, the service is a bit slow – at first it took quite a while until finally someone showed up to take the order and then it took them quite long to execute the order. For the second round, ordering 5 beers, it took them a good 10 minutes to pour the beers (and the walking distance from our table to the bar was approximately 3,5 meters). What was definitely surprising though was the fact that they do not sell any cigars. I mean, if you have a smokers’ loungs you should sell things you can smoke – like cigars (in my humble opinion). However, the Apples Bar at the Park Hyatt hotel is a nice place to have a couple of drinks in the evening in a nice atmosphere – patience is of essence though.
