4. July 2014: Radio Rooftop Bar and Restaurant

| July 20, 2014 | 0 Comments

The top floor of the Melia hotel hosts the “Radio Rooftop Bar” which is absolutely worth a visit when the weather is good. In the late afternoon when the sun is about to set it is absolutely perfect to be there and sit outside enjoying the last sunbeams. However, it is rather difficult to find a space outside where you can sit if you haven’t booked a table or seat. As I was alone it was not too difficult to find a space but if you are more than one it seemed to be pretty tricky. However, you can just call and put yourself on the guestlist for the evenings.

In order to start the weekend, I went for the “London Horizon (Bombay Sapphire, Green Tea Cordial, Lemon, Egg White)” (GBP 12.50) which was a drink of a refreshing nature and at the same time the ideal drink to broaden my horizon for London.

Secondly, I tried a “Caipirinha” (GBP 12.50) which was pretty average to be honest. But the atmosphere which is pulsating, the crowd which is hip (hipsters, bankers, etc.) and the view which is lovely compensate for the average drink.

The waiters and waitresses are friendly but you have to be patient as the terrasse is rather big and there are definitely not enough waiters to serve everyone at the same time.

Overall, the Radio Rooftop bar is a nice place to enjoy the sun, have a relaxing drink, kick-off the weekend but you have to make sure you have a booking as else it is very difficult to find a place to sit (and the later it gets the more difficult it is). If the weather is good, it is definitely a place I can recommend you to visit.
