15. August 2014: Restaurant La Cucina

| September 22, 2014 | 0 Comments

I was not aware that there are restaurants in Zurich which are supported by Swiss banks for their employees which are open to the public. The Restaurant La Cucina is such a restaurant. You are free to pick one plate from the anti pasti buffet which has a nice but not overwhelming number of antipasti. However, the quality of the food is good.

As a main course I went for the “gnocchi con dadini di pollo alla paprica” (CHF 25.00 incl. anti pasti buffet and double espresso) which were astonishingly aromatic and of nice consistency. In all fairness, I did not expect to find such good gnocchi here but I did.

As somehow I felt like dessert, I went for “tiramisu” (CHF 5.00). The tiramisu was good as well – not as good as the main course or the antipasti buffet but definitely also enjoyable.

With regards to the service, I must admit that the waitress was friendly and helpful. What I consider amazing though about the place is the price performance ratio. Where in Zurich would you find an antipasti buffet, a main course (including meat), 0,5L water plus an espresso for CHF 25.00 only? Frankly, I haven’t found a place so far.

However, on top of that the interior of the Restaurant La Cucina is also quite nice. Deifnitely nothing mind-blowing or breath-taking but definitely a nice place where it makes absolutely sense to have lunch: very fair prices, nice service, extremely good price-performance-ratio and last but not least a nice atmosphere.
