23. May 2010: Ristorante nami sushi

| May 27, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Ristorante nami sushi is located in the area between navigli and Duomo and is therefore reachble easily by public transportation from both sides. Easiest is taking tram 2 or 14 and getting off at the stop “Correnti Carrobbio” or tram 3 and getting off at “Ticinese Carrobbio”. Alternatively, you can take the metro (yellow line) and get off at “Missori”.

The restaurant already looks somewhat stylish from the outside, the windows being decorated with bamboo. Although it’s kind of hidden as it is quite small, it is really eye-catchy once you’ve actually spotted it.

Once you enter the place you actually see that the interior design is really nice too. It’s held in a wooden, warm, but very modern design – being divided in two main areas: One with regular tables and chairs (like a normal restaurant) and one part which looks a bit more Japanese where it looks as if you would sit on the ground in the lotus seat.

The kitchen is open to the guests and you can watch the Japanese chef preparing fresh sushi in front of you. Quite cool to see.

As a main dish we had a “sushi boat” (the one on the picture being for two people) which was absolutely great. It had sushi, sashimi and other kinds of fish dishes. The plate looked great and the food was very good.

As a desert I’ve had a selection of Japanese deserts – a very special kind of desert in my opinion but still very tasty.

What can’t be missed of course is the Sake at the end – but honestly I didn’t really like it (actually nobody at the table did).

The personnel is extremly friendly and helpful, being at disposion at any time you need them. There’s definitely nothing to complain about the service.

What is perfect too, is the price-performance ratio of the boat sushi (and overall) as if you don’t really know too much about sushi and you are (as we’ve been) not able to pick from the wide selection of different sushi on the menu, this is just perfect – absolutely tasty, great selection and costs only 20 EUR per person.
