31. December 2014: Café Les Négociants
The “Café Les Négociants” is probably not a place I would have walked in if I was not forced to wait for the tourist bus and the place happened to be right next to it. But I did and I was surprised as I expected absolutely nothing. However, I was wrong. I went for the “Brochettes de Poulet & Frites” (45 MAD) which were better than I had expected. Definitely nothing outstanding or so, but meat you can actually eat without thinking “what the heck am I eating?”. Something I had not expected in this place.
Besides the surprisingly fine food, the service was also great. There was just one waiter outside who was taking care of approximately 20 tables and all of them were full. However, somehow he managed to serve everyone within a very reasonable amount of time. The prices are more than fair – which also applies for the Coke Zero (12 MAD).
From an optical point of view, the café is really not the place to be. Also because it is located right next to a major road where a lot of traffic passes and the smog is respectively uncomfortable.
Overall, I must admit, I was positively surprised. As I said, nothing great or anything, but definitely better than expected. So, if you have to wait for the “green line” of the bus touristique, you can absolutely sit down here and wait.
