22. June 2015: Restaurant Kleinschmecker

| August 16, 2015 | 0 Comments

I stumbled across the Restaurant Kleinschmecker more by accident than anything else – and I must admit it was a lucky stumble. The four course menu (EUR 52.00) leaves you the choice to pick a starter, a soup, a main course, and a dessert from the menu. And it definitely is a good deal. I started with the “beef tatare of the Bavarian ox, steak fries, yuzu shalotts, and crème fraiche” (usually, EUR 14.80) which was absolutely good. Especially the combination of the beef with the crème fraiche was lovely.

The next course I went for was a “tangerine foam soup, salmon tatar, green asparagus” (usually, EUR 9.00) which was absolutely lovely! The sweetness of the tangerine with the basic taste of the salmon tatar was a truly great combination tickeling your taste buds.

The chosen main course was a “piccata of the Bavarian ox filet, fregola sarda, vegetables, crème fraiche, madeira jus” (usually, EUR 31.50) and it was again a blast. I was somehow expecting a smaller portion of meat but it turned out to be quite large and it was absolutely yummy in taste!

The last course was a “Valrhona chocolate fondant, bergamot, pineapple, lemon verveine icecream” (usually, EUR 12.50) which was, despite the fact that I am not too much into chocolate, lovely. I must admit though, my favourite part was the lemon verveine icecream.

The place is rather small and you absolutely have to book a table in advance but the place is also absolutely lovely and cozy. The service is dedicated, friendly, and attentive and you can easily realize that they like their job – they way it should be.

The whole experience is definitely not on the cheap side for Germany but it is absolutely worth going! The “accompanying wines” (approx. EUR 30.00) are worth taking too! Overall, I can absolutely recommend the restaurant Kleinschmecker – lovely place, great food, fair prices!
