1. July 2015: Restaurant Bocca

| September 1, 2015 | 0 Comments

The “salmon carpaccio with avocado and strawberry salad” (EUR 12.00) not only sounded very tasty but it was actually quite refreshing. Especially the sweetness of the strawberries together with the fattiness of the avocado and the salmon made it a very sound and surprising dish.

As a main course I then went for the “black spaghetti with grilled prawns and scallop in spicy fresh tomato sauce” (EUR 14.00) as, unfortunately, the dish I originally wanted with burrata was not available anymore as they run out of burrata (which was not mentioned by the waiter when providing the menu). The prawns and scallops though were quite a bit disappointing as they did not really taste like much.

The service was generally really friendly and did a good job – however, sometimes one really had to be patient in order to get what one wanted. Especially when it came to getting the bill we had to wait quite long. However, the dishes are quite fine and also fair in price which applies also to the beverages (i.e. double espresso, EUR 3.00; 0,75L, Lurisia Bolle, EUR 5.00; A Le Coq Imperial Gold, 0,5L, EUR 5.00).

What was truly great though about the whole restaurant was the atmosphere – really lovely interior design with great atmosphere. The picture only looks that dark as it was taken against the sun.

Overall, the Restaurant Bocca is a fair place to have lunch – nice atmosphere, generally good service (but you have to be quite patient), good food, and fair prices. Not above the top but definitely worth trying.
