8. July 2015: Restaurant Naked Bite

The last dish in Vilinus was … let’s say interesting. I’ve spotted the Restaurant Naked Bite the previous day and it somehow looked promising and appealing. You can sit outside in a narrow street, the menu is hand-written, respectively there is a sign with “the dishes of today”. However, what I did not expect is the fact that there are only two starters and two mains on the menu – that’s it. Being hungry and not feeling like walking through the city anymore, I went for the “creamy mushroom soup” (EUR 2.50) which was very intense in taste and quite creamy.


The “garlic bread” which came with the soup was rather decent and not too intense.


The “halibut with couscous” (EUR 4.80) was absolutely okay. The description of the sides somehow read a bit differently on the sign but it was a refreshing meal and for a total of EUR 7.30 you can’t really say anything! While everything is quite okay the service is incredibly friendly but also suuuuuuper slow. I mean if you have to wait 1o minutes until someone finally manages to bring the beverages (and it wasn’t even anything complicated, just a bottle of water (0,75L, EUR 3.48) then I’m wondering a bit) when there is only one table occupied (ours!).


The same also happened when ordering the bill. And one more thing – the very moment we had placed our order, the menu on the sign was changed, respectively completed by a third main course. I was a bit pissed because the beef filet actually sounded more like what I wanted but given that starvation was near, I went for the halibut after all.

So, all in all, the Restaurant Naked Bite is okay to grab quick lunch – I mean, a small and cheap lunch when you have a loooot of time. Food is good, prices are fair, place is decent, but you have to be patient – else you won’t enjoy it!
