24. June 2010: Ristorante Osteria Casa Tua
The Osteria Casa Tua is located close to Porta Romana (yellow metro line) and also reachable by tram 9 or 29/30 (stop: Sabotino Medaglie D’Oro). The restaurant is right next to the restaurant Giulio Pane e Ojo, and in walking distance to the Gelateria Il Gelatiere.
The place looks fine from the outside and also okay from the inside. The dimmed lights create a nice and cozy atmosphere and the tables standing right next to each other also make you feel like eating in a big family somehow.
The waiters are nice and friendly. Right at the beginning you’re brought some water to the tables and you get the menu – in Italian or English – whichever you prefer (although one must say that the translation is not always a 100% accurate).
As a starter – after you’ve placed your orders – you get a antipasti plate with cheese and salami as well as another one with some kind of vegetarian mix (can’t exactely ay what it is but it was extremly good).
As a primo piatto I’ve had the Papardelle All’Antica (fresh hand-made pasta with a mix of three meats: beaf, veal and duck). The pasta was very good but you couldn’t really taste any difference in the meats provided in the sauce. Still, it was tasty.
As a secondo (main dish) I’ve enjoyed a “Peposo alla Fornacina” which is a special kind of meatballs – and one must say: They’re delicious! Absolutely great. And, furthermore, they’re also quite big and definitely a portion you got enough after.
The waiters were very attentive and there at all times you needed them – although you had to call for them when you needed something they’ve been there within seconds and provide you with whatever you need within minutes.
Finally, it must also be said that the prices are absolutely okay for the food, service and atmosphere provided! Therefore, the Osteria Casa Tua is definitely worth going and much more recommendable than the Giulio Pane e Ojo which belongs to the same owner!
