2. September 2015: Restaurant El Agave
The “Queso fundido con chorizo” (CHF 10.90, respectively CHF 5.45 with EasyDining.ch) was not quite what I had expected. But when you read the menu it makes sense. Basically you get cheese with chorizo pieces and tortillas so you can build your own quesadillas. And while the portion is quite large, I must admit it was very tasty.
The main course, “Molcajete de res” (CHF 32.00, respectively CHF 16.00 with EasyDining.ch) was quite a portion and very rich. You get to build your own tortillas with chorizo, cheese, spicy sauce, and beef. I think if you have queso fundido and the molcajete de res once, it is enough food for two people – and it is also very tasty! If you want extra tortillas, that accounts for an additional CHF 2.00.
The prices are fair – even more so with EasyDining.ch – which is also true for the beverages (i.e. 0,5L water, CHF 6.50). The place is simple but nice and the service is very dedicated and friendly. It might help to speak Spanish with a Mexican accent but they definitely do their best! In my opinion, definitely worth a visit!
