3. January 2016: Restaurant Dorfstube

| February 29, 2016 | 0 Comments

When you start the military service with a dinner like that, it is always a good sign. The restaurant Dorfstube at the Hotel Hirschen Wildhaus is a very atmospheric place. The interior is lovely in its decoration. The bread is served with “rape seed oil” and lard which is perfect to start your dinner.

To start we had quite some different cold cuts including brawn and cheese which was a tasty start.

As a main, we were served a Viennese Schnitzel with potato salad with pumpkin seed oil. The Viennese Schnitzel was fine but it was too dry for my personal gusto. However, they served supplement and the second one was perfect. I assume as our group of 14 was a bit too much for just one waiter (who was also serving the other guests), mine was laying on the plate for a bit before actually being brought to the table. But the second one was perfectly juicy and aromatic. What I found truly outstanding was the potato pumpkin seed oil salad – definitely one of the best I have had so far.

The dessert which was served thereafter was good too. Overall a bit too much for me in amount but good. The waiter that evening did a good job but it would have done good to have a second waiter in place.

Overall, the Restaurant Dorfstube at the Hotel Hirschen Wildhaus is a place you can definitely visit as the dishes are good, the place is lovely and the service is friendly and does a good job.
