Average lunch dishes with lovely service: Restaurant Amalfi (11. February 2016)
Getting a lunch menu for CHF 30.00 in Zurich is the good news – however, the “Crema di carciofi” which comes as a starter was rather dull. The soup was watery and lacked in tasted.
The “salmone alla griglia con timo” [grilled salmon with thyme, vegetables and rice] (CHF 30.00) was absolutely fine but was – again – rather dull. It is a sound dish which feeds you but nothing beyond that. It lacks inspiration, taste, and originality. Of course, you can’t expect too much for CHF 30.00 in Zurich but still …
The restaurant itself is nice, has a proper clean interior design which is set up the modern Italian way. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, even jovial in a pleasant way. Overall, the dishes at the Restaurant Amalfi are very average (at least as far as I can judge for the lunch menu) but the place is lovely, the waitress did a great job, and the price for the lunch menu is more than decent!
