Yummy Mexican dishes: Restaurant El Agave (26. February 2016)
You get good Mexican dishes at the El Agave – although the “guacamole with corn chips” (CHF 11.90) are maybe quite a European depiction of Mexican food. The guacamole is definitely delicious but the corn chips are rather … common.
However, the “molcajete de res” (CHF 32.00) was – once more – delicious! Basically you get beef, chorizo, and cheese in a stone pot where everything is boiling and you make your own tortillas. And it is quite delicious – especially in combination with the “salsa verde” or the “salsa roja”. However, beware of the salsa roja as it is really quite hot!
The atmosphere of the place is rather simple but is compensated for by the service which is friendly and very attentive and also rather quick when placing an order. We needed more tortillas and they were delivered to us within no time. Overall, I can definitely recommend the Restaurant El Agave as it offers good Mexican dishes and friendly service for a fair price.
