29. July 2010: Restaurant La Merenda

The Restaurant La Merenda is located in the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz where other restaurants like the Restaurant Bel-Air are located. The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is reachable most easily by car – as an alternative you can take the train but it’s way more complicated getting there.

The La Merenda is located right next to the entry of the Tamina Therme and is accessible from the outside but also from the Tamina Therme within. The selection of possible dishes is quite small as it is primarly a place to take something small for a lunch.

The interior design is quite amazing as it looks really artsy and spacious. Especially the white colour provides the place with a somewhat elegant touch.

The service is friendly although there is no real service (just someone bringing you the plate to your table once you’ve ordered it at the buffet).

The dish, I’ve had a “Fitnessteller” (so meat with salad) was quite okay. The sauce was a bit lackadaisical but otherwise the dish was quite okay. The price (CHF 19.50) for it is also decent.

The Restaurant La Merenda is a good place if you’re feeling slightly hungry, want to eat something okay real quick for a reasonable price and maybe are on your way to the Tamina Therme. If you’re at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz though for good, then you should definitely avoid the La Merenda and try out the other restaurants there as their food quality and the experience as a whole is definitely way better.
