Great sashimi with an even better lake view: Restaurant Seerose (7. August 2016)

| September 26, 2016 | 0 Comments

At first I was a bit surprised about the size of the portion for CHF 38.00 – but once I tried the “sashimi of smoked salmon d’extrême qualité with a Granny Smith-avocado tatar and soy sauce”, I understood. The salmon sashimi really is outstanding in its fine texture and smooth taste. The Granny Smith avocado tatar is the perfect mixture of smooth and sweet with an interesting texture of the apple.

What is great about the Seerose is the fact that it is located right next to the lake and if you are lucky enough – or show up early during the day – you might score a table right next to the lake – which is absolutely lovely! And perfect to watch the people arriving by boat.

The “sourcream icecream” (CHF 4.80) and the “orange sorbet” (CHF 4.80) are good and perfect to finish a meal.

The prices are absolutely okay for beverages like a double espresso (CHF 6.00) or a glass of white “Leone” (CHF 7.50) but one liter of water for CHF 13.00 is a bit off if you ask me.

Our waitress was friendly, swift, and attentive at first. However, as we were apparently a bit early and the restaurant only filled up while we were already eating, the waitress became less and less attentive. It took quite a while until we were able to order the bill.

All in all, the Restaurant Seerose is lovely with its view, offers good dishes for okay prices, and the service is friendly. However, for some beverages, it is definitely too expensive.
