Very tasty Greek dishes: Restaurant Yamas (11. August 2016)

| September 28, 2016 | 0 Comments

The Yamas is a place I like more and more – because every time I return I feel a bit more like “coming home”. Not that I am of Greek origin or anything but given I have been there a couple of times, I am welcomed friendlier every time. And that is not the only reason I like to return – also because the dishes are actually great. The “feta in cripsy filo dow with sesame and honey” (CHF 12.00) looked not too interesting at first but once you take a bit you want to have another one!

I went for the “crayfish tatar with avocado and marinated vegetables” (CHF 24.00) again – and it is still absolutely yummy! Definitely worth trying when you visit Yamas!

One of the other dishes I liked a lot was the “Kritharoto – Greek rice noodles à la risotto” but they used to serve it with truffles and have taken it off the menu like that. Now there is the same type of rice noodles à la risotto but with crayfish. And it does not only look very nice but it is also very delicious!

And even the Greek wine, a “Gaia S 2013 (Gaia Wines), Peloponnes” (CHF 55.00) is actually quite nice. However, it lacks a bit of strength and length.

The place is small but lovely – and you should definitely book a table in advance when you want to have dinner. The owner and the waiter that evening, Yanos or something like that, were very helpful and friendly at all times. That is exactly how you want to be served and treated as a customer!
