True Bavarian breakfast: Restaurant Augustiner Bräustuben (25. September 2016)
After a heavy day at Oktoberfest, a breakfast at the Restaurant Augustiner Bräustuben is just perfect. I went for the “Augustiner beer coachman pan with chicken, pork joint, roast, pork sausage, wiener sausage, potato gnocchi, bacon and kraut salad, dark beer sauce” (EUR 14.80). And while it is definitely a heavy breakfast it perfectly helps you to normalize your stomach again after a couple of tents :) The meat is actually surprisingly good – nothing outstanding, definitely, but quite okay in terms of taste and quality. And what is always amazing and still keeps amazing me is the fact that you get so much meat almost for free. Germany, you never fail to amaze me!
The Augustiner Bräustuben has a roof top terrace which is quite nice when the sun is shining and you get to relax there while waiting for your food which is served rather quickly. However, the waiter is not exactly the most attentive one so you have to be a bit patient. Overall, the Restaurant Augustiner Bräustuben is a fine place for a heavy Bavarian dish and definitely a place you have to visit as a tourist. In any other case, there are various great restaurants in Munich I would prefer compared to the Augustiner Bräustuben.
