Lovely grandmotherly café: Café Maingold (29. October 2016)
The Café Maingold is probably not a place I would have entered myself as it looked really alternative from the outside and I even think it is a bit. However, given my friend decided to pay this place a visit I wasn’t opposing much and I must admit I was positively surprised as the place is very atmospheric.
The service is though not fully up to its task: We waited a good 10 minutes until someone showed up. And then it took like another 15 minutes until a glass of wine and a bottle of water was served. A bit long, if you ask me. Additionally, smart customer thinking is not their strongest point: As we were sitting outside I had asked the waitress if she could notify us in case table inside frees up. Her – very blunt – answer was: No, I can’t do that!
I mean, okay, I get it – you’re busy. Fair enough, however, at least saying something like “yeah, sure, I can look out but can’t promise anything would be reasonable but just a blunt no? Well, in any case, we got a table inside at some point and were seated there. Lovely atmosphere and definitely worth paying a visit!
