Newly opened and already looks old: The Bridge Bar @ The Westin Hamburg (5. November 2016)
The “Moscow Mule” (EUR 11.50) does not only come in a lovely glass but is also super tasty. And while it was only the second evening the bar was open, the service generally functioned well – given you were ready to take some “waiting time” into consideration.
While the elements served on the table are all rather ‘exclusive’, the bar does somehow not give away that impression. Unfortunately, the newly opened bar already looks kind of old. I don’t really know why and how this was thought through (or not) but it was really not that appealing.
What I considered outstanding though was when my friend complained about the drink he had ordered and the bar manager showed up personally to deal with the complaint – and he took off the beer from the bill. A pure courtesy and nothing one could expect just like that. Overall, the bar has it’s nice elements like the view, the good drinks (if you order the right ones) and a friendly service but atmosphere-wise it is a bit of a disappointment.
