Nice place but slow service: Restaurant Alex am Alex (26. November 2016)

| December 29, 2016 | 0 Comments

The Alex am Alex looked nice from outside like the perfect place to flee from the cold. And the place is actually really appealing, atmospheric, makes you feel comfortable – all perfect. Well, at least one might expect so but then again I was disappointed quite a lot. I mean, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the “tarte flambée ‘pulled pork'” (EUR 9.20) or the “tarte flambée ‘Elsass'” (EUR 7.10) as they are both quite good – especially the “pulled pork version”.

However, there is one thing which is kind of unacceptable! The service is incredibly (!!!) slow! I mean, okay, I get it. We order “fresh mint tea” (EUR 3.10), a bottle of water (0,75L Apolinaris, EUR 5.20) and a bottle of “Sauvignon Blanc ‘Branco'” (EUR 19.50) plus the two tartes flambées. This is complicated. A lot. And kind of difficult. But why would we have to wait more than 15 minutes until our beverages were brought? And then you bring us the wrong wine? And then, waiting 30 minutes for two ‘tartes flambées’ is somehow also not within the time limit which seems to be reasonable for that. We even had to walk up to the bar twice to get our wine – which is a bit surprising to me, especially given that the place is definitely a place where you have a lot of tourists. What did they think? The excuse being ‘we are super busy today’ – well, looking at how ‘full’ it is: No, you’re not!
