Perfect to warm up in a very cozy atmosphere: Tante Emma (5. January 2017)
We did a “Street Art Tour” which was incredibly interesting showing me part of Berlin I have never seen before. Given it was minus 8 degrees Celsius, and it was less of a walking tour but more of a walk a bit and stand and speak tour, after 90 minutes we were freezing. And the Tante Emma was the first place we saw looking for a place to warm up.
The interior is kind of like in an old living room with cosy sofas but nothing fancy really. The “winter tea (ginger, mint, orange)” (EUR 3.00) tasted great but the service was definitely not how it should be. The waiter does the job he is supposed to, yes, but with a face which says “I really don’t want to be here and why the hell do I have to move to take your order”.
Other than the dissatisfying service, which lightened up after I gave him a tip (ah, you’re here for the money, huh?), the place is lovely to relax and warm up.
