Quick and friendly business lunch in medium atmosphere: Japan Restaurant BIMI (12. January 2017)
Sometimes I wonder how restaurants keep aligned their prices and how they determine them. The bento box was – at least if I call correctly – CHF 28.00 on the menu. On the bill, it was CHF 22.00. Not that I’m complaining but I really do wonder how restaurants make money with such kinds of policies. In any case, I went for the “Bento Box (‘salmon furai’, breaded salmon; ‘niku tofu’, tofu on a meat sauce; potato salad, Japanese omelet served with rice, miso soup and pickles) (CHF 22.00). The tofu was fine, the rice was good, and the salmon was actually delicious. The potato salad on the other hand was definitely special – in its consistency, not bad, but very uncommon.
The place itself is rather simple – a bit too simple for me. I mean, yeah, you’re coming here for lunch or dinner but it is so not decorated which is very unusual. The service on the other hand is swift, friendly, and does a good job. And with the price for the dishes (not so much the beverages, i.e. 0,7l water, CHF 9.00) is a fair deal.
