Perfect risotto and great lunch bargain: Restaurant MASI Wine Bar (27. March 2017)
The “Crema di Cavolfiore (cream of cauliflower soup)” comes with the menu – and it was quite a fine start into lunch, however, the taste of cauliflower was almost too decent for my personal gusto. You could barely taste the flavour of the cauliflower and the soup was a bit too thin.
The main course, on the other hand, the “piccata di vitello con risotto allo zafferano (veal piccata with saffron risotto)” (CHF 28.00) was quite exquisite. The piece of meat is rather small but the saffron risotto is absolutely delicious. Overall, a very sound dish and a great bargain for its price. Although the meat looks rather small at first and you might be afraid of not getting enough, it works perfectly with the risotto.
As a little goodie, you get a small dessert, in this case “caramel ice cream” offered by the restaurant. The ice cream was absolutely smooth and delicious.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is overall quite fine and the service is friendly and jovial and was rather swift today. When it comes to the beverages, CHF 5.50 for 0,5l of San Pellegrino is okay as well. All in all, you definitely get a good lunch bargain at the MASI Wine bar.
