Superb lunch deal in a spacious yet cozy atmosphere: Restaurant Lagerhaus (28. March 2017)

| May 30, 2017 | 0 Comments

When you enter the Restaurant Lagerhaus you feel like entering a former storage building – and obviously, the name in German means exactly that, ‘storage building’. Therefore, the place is rather spacious and you definitely have enough space between the single tables so you have your share of privacy.

I started with a “rocket salad soup with olive foam” (CHF 4.50) which was a very good soup – especially given that it wasn’t too thin like soups these days so often are! It still had pieces of rocket salad in it and it had a nice consistency and flavour.

The main course was the “Lagerhaus skewer with beef (CH, 160gr), bacon; served with home-made French fries” (CHF 24.50) which looked tiny at first but was actually quite a piece of meat and surprisingly delicious. The fries could have been a tiny bit more crispy but else the dish was very good. With regards to the ketchup served, it does definitely look nicer when you serve it in a little bowl but, honestly speaking, it is not entirely practical as you might want some more and then it takes some additional time.

The waiters do their job in a good manner – they are attentive and relatively quick but there is some room for improvement as it took a bit too long for the waitress to bring my second order of water (i.e. 0,3l water, CHF 4.20; 0,5l water, CHF 5.90) but the “double espresso” (CHF 5.50) was served rather quickly. Overall, you get a great lunch deal in the Restaurant Lagerhaus – just make sure to book your table in advance!
