Outstanding noodle soup for lunch – bring patience though: Restaurant Saku (3. April 2017)

| June 6, 2017 | 0 Comments

What you get at Saku is pretty much ‘comfort food’ – the “salad” which comes with the menu is simple yet good as the sauce is fine and has a somewhat Asian touch.

The main course I had this day, the “Chashu Shoyu Ramen (soy base) – ramen, roast pork, egg, rocket, tomato, spring onions, nori” (CHF 23.00) did not only look very appealing but was also very comforting. The noodles are tasty, the egg yolk is still a bit liquid and mixes perfect with the intense flavour of the soup. Definitely a must try when you have lunch at the Restaurant Saku.

When you intend to enjoy lunch here, make sure to book your table in advance as the place is rather tiny and you won’t stand a chance to get a table on short notice. When it comes to the interior, I do admit that it is quite appealing in its simplicity. If you expect something fancy or flashy, wrong place. If you expect something nice and down to earth, then the Saku is the right place. With regards to the service, it is friendly and helpful but you have to be patient. Given, the place is rather small but still can accommodate like 20 to 25 customers, there are not too many waitresses and, therefore, they’re running at full capacity – causing some lack of speed / delay sometimes – so patience is an imperative!
