9. September 2010: Restaurant Frascati

| September 11, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Restaurant Frascati belongs to the Molino Group (e.g. see Restaurant Molino-Select Limmat-Quai). It is located right next to the shore of the Lake Zurich. It is therefore not that easily reachable by public transportation but still possible by taking tram 2 or 4 (and getting off at “Feldeggstrasse”) or taking bus 912 or 916 (and getting off at the same stop).

The restaurant looks nice outside in summer – as there are a lot of tables outside and when the sun is shinning, the place is really nice. Especially the vicinity to the lake provides the place with a great atmosphere.

Also, the interior is quite nice as it is somehow arranged classy and nicely arranged. We decided to sit outside at first but then we moved in as it was getting too cold. The move was friendly supported by the waiter.

I’ve had a Risotto al Limon con Gamberoni (Risotto with Lemon and King Prawns) which tasted great. Not so much the King Prawns (although they weren’t bad) but the underlying lemon taste was really great. Also the corniness of the rice was just about perfect. Also the Tagliata di Tonno which my company had was really good.

The prices are a bit upscale but they’re worth being paid (CHF 32.50 for the Risotto, CHF 45.50 for the Tagliata). Also, astonishingly wine prices are not that high, paying CHF 54.50 for a bottle of Campofiorin, Masi seems reasonable for a restaurant.

All in all, the Restaurant Frascati has a nice atmosphere, good service (although I have had experienced differently before), tasty dishes and a bit upscale prices. Still, if the weather is nice, it’s a perfect place to go.
