A patient Italian who can work on friendliness: Restaurant La Maschera del Lillo Tatini (11. August 2017)
When you’re late you start with the main course and skip the starters. The “stewed beef, cooked for 4 hours into Sangiovese red wine, black pepper, rosemary, and sage with side of potatoes tart” did not look too appealing when served but the meat was tender, smooth and rich in flavour. The potato tart on the other hand was rather dull but with the tiny bit of sauce applied to the meat was actually good to make the potato tart enjoyable.
The dessert on the other hand was great – the “parfait cioccolata bianca e pistacchi” was really to my liking. Now, that is obviously not that tricky given I love white chocolate. The guy even offered us the espresso although we were quite loud as a hen party (also given the majority of the hen party participants were men).
And while I get it that you don’t like a bunch of drunk people in your restaurant, in terms of friendliness there is definitely room for improvement. So, while it is authentic Italian to some degree it isn’t too pleasant in the end in terms of friendliness of the service.
