9. October 2010: Meridiani Bar
The Café Bar Meridiani is located in a side street of the main street coming from the highway and leading to the city center. It is easily reachable by public transportation (Postauto, Stop “Hirzenhof”) or by a little walk.
The Meridiani has an outside and an inside part and both have been quite packed although the temperature was low. The bar has a nice atmosphere somehow but is a bit alternative (at least in my perception). As the huge glass windows give you the impression of space and the wooden interior provides you with a comfortable feeling.
The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. When you’ve placed your order it only takes them a few minutes to bring the drinks to your table.
After the second round you get served a little appetizer (see below) which was quite tasty with the goat cheese they’ve chosen.
The Meridiani bar is a nice place to have a glass of wine before dinner and talk a bit. The crowd is okay – a bit alternative, but the location is nice and the prices are decent (CHF 5.50 for a glass of white wine, CHF 4.50 for a beer and CHF 6.50 for a martini).
