Good traditional dishes: Furn Bistro & Bakery @ The Westin Bahrain City Centre (12. November 2017)
Since I have arrived to the Middle East I somehow can’t help it but to order “traditional hummus” (2.800 BHD) with almost every meal. This thing literally got me addicted – as it is just so good. Don’t really know how to not order it and the one at the Furn is actually truly delicious.
In order to enjoy something healthy once in a while, I decided to go for the “Beetroot, Apple, Lemon, Ginger” (2.100 BHD) and while it sounded extremely healthy, it tasted exactly that way. Not bad really but not really great either.
The “Ades Bil Hamed Wel Kosbara” (2.800 BHD) which is some kind of lentil soup was rich and generally quite enjoyable. You would definitely feel like you’ve had enough …
… especially if you ordered the “Quinoa Madrouba (roasted pumpkin)” (5.500 BHD) as a main course. The dish is very rich, very heavy yet somehow light as it is vegetables only. I liked it quite a lot.
The service that evening was quite decent overall – the guy was attentive but not overly so. In any case, he managed to serve us swiftly and remained friendly throughout the evening. More than you can expect of the average waiter. The atmosphere in the Furn is nice and comfortable – definitely a ‘can visit’.
