Decent Indian food – especially for a mall: Restaurant Asha’s (20. November 2017)

| March 27, 2018 | 0 Comments

I had passed by a couple of times by this place and somehow I was always a bit reluctant to actually enter it – but finally it was the time and after seating down we got served some “Indian Bread & Dips”. Not exactly sure what the dips were but the ‘bread’ was somewhat crispy so it basically fell apart the moment you touched it. Still, nice start.

As a proper starter, I went for the “samosa mixed selection (cheese, vegetable, chicken tikka)” (3.200 BHD) and it was quite fine. My favourite was definitely the one with chicken. Be aware that the portion is rather large so you might end up having enough after the starter.

What I liked a lot was the “cheese garlic naan (naan topped with cheese and fresh garlic)” (1.200 BHD) especially as it was rich in flavour and not too oily.

The “Chicken Tikka Masala (chicken tikka cooked with garam masala in a spicy onion and tomato gravy)” (6.200 BHD) was definitely better than expected especially as the chicken was definitely more tender than i had expected and it had a perfect level of spiciness.

The place itself isn’t very special as it is located in a mall so it can only get ‘so nice’ but the service was friendly and attentive throughout the whole evening. So, all in all, the Asha’s is a decent Indian place (now as I have actually tried ‘real Indian food’ a couple of weeks later).
