26. October 2010: Restaurant Café Sowieso
The Restaurant Café Sowieso is close to the Bourbaki and the Löwendenkmal Luzern. It is easily reachable by public transportation (taking bus 1 or 23) from the Lucerne main station. In its near vicinity is the Restaurant Hopfenkranz [24. September 2010 | 8. October 2010].
The Café Sowieso has a huge glass front and looks therefore pretty inviting. Also, the interior is nice – modern and bright.
The waitresses are friendly and pretty quick too. The orders for your dishes and drinks are taken within a few minutes and the drinks are brought to your table quickly.
I’ve had the “Sowieso Hit” as a menu which included a salad as a starter. The sauce was good, the salad tasted fresh, so pretty okay.
The main course was a pork cutlet with cheese and apples on top and spaetzle on the side. All in all, it was pretty good – there was just one shortcoming in the pork cutlet as it had sinews which were pretty big.
As a desert I got served fresh fruits with blood orange sorbet – the fruits were okay but the sorbet was really good.
All in all, the menu was pretty good. The price is totally okay too (being CHF 24.00 for the whole thing), the place is nice, the waitresses are friendly. It’s recommendable to reserve a table in advance as it’s pretty crowded over lunch time.
