Atmospheric healthy lunch: Restaurant Gourmet by Kcal @ Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina (18. December 2017)

Kind of accidentally, I ended up at the same restaurant for lunch as I have been to for breakfast. And I must say, it is a good choice for lunch as well. As a starter I had the “Mezzeh Platter (basil hummus, moutabbel, sweet potato hummus, roasted red capsicum and walnut dip, traditional hummus, mixed Mediterranean olives, with Arabic bread or veggie sticks)” (54 AED) which was really good as the variety of hummus(es?) was exquisite – and that also in terms of flavour. What was a bit disappointing though was the Arabic bread as it was too dry and too hard for my personal gusto. Secondly, you could have had the dish with vegetable sticks but the waitress did not ask if you wanted Arabic bread of vegetable sticks.

As a main I went for the very “Kale & Grapefruit (kale, broccoli, shredded red cabbage, chickpeas, grapefruit, avocado, roasted walnuts and coconut flakes, chopped parsley and coriander with lemon pepper dressing)” (68 AED) which was refreshing and felt incredibly healthy. And I must say, it was actually delicious – so definitely a dish I can recommend you to have.

The service is friendly but not really that attentive, i.e. I had to wait for approximately 15 minutes once I had ordered more Arabic bread to my starter. Something which doesn’t seem very practical if you want to finish your dish and you’re asking for something simple as bread. All in all, the Gourmet by Kcal is especially nice as you get to sit outside and enjoy the sun.
