Mall experience definitely beyond expectation: Restaurant The Butcher Shop & Grill (21. December 2017)

I grew fond of this place as it serves constant and continuous great meat quality – something which still doesn’t really work in my mind as the place is located in a mall. The greeting from the kitchen, sausage in a tomato sauce and bread plus spread is a good way to start your dinner.

The “salt & pepper calamari (perfectly seasoned fried baby calamari, served with homemade tartare sauce)” (3.900 BHD) are good in consistency and quality. You have not only calamari rings but also small actual calamari which is not so common. The tartare sauce isn’t mind-blowing or anything but solid.

What I really like though is the meat – the “tenderloin, 180gr (perfectly aged South African beef cooked to perfection served with choice of two sides and a sauce) with vegetables, salad, peppercorn sauce and extra fries” (9.900 BHD) is great. The salad is fresh and refreshing, the vegetable selection is quite large and good. The French fries could be a bit more crispy but the meat is really what makes the meal great. The quality of the meat is good, the cooking is perfectly medium-rare as asked for and the grill flavours are perfectly there. So, for a mall place, this is truly exquisite.

On top of that, the service is dedicated, friendly and very attentive. Definitely beyond expectation! When it comes to the prices, things are also quite fine which is also true for sparkling water (0,75l; 2.400 BHD) or “watermelon juice” (2.400 BHD). So, if you are intending to dine in the Bahrain City Centre Mall, you should definitely take The Butcher Shop & Grill on your shortlist!
