New dishes aren’t always better: Restaurant Paul’s (4. January 2018)
If you are looking for some kind of healthy option in the Bahrain City Centre Mall, then Paul’s is kind of an option. The place is nice in terms of interior and you’re served “bread & spread” including butter once you’ve placed your order.
I had the “salad fraicheur et avocat (mixed green salad with avocado – rocca, spinach, red radish, tomato, cucumber, fresh mint, roasted almonds, sun dried tomatoes, spring onion and green thyme, served with Parmesan cheese dressing)” (5.900 BHD) with “extra salmon” (90gr, 2.400 BHD) which was new on the menu! And I should have remained with the salad only as the salad was good with a lot of different ingredients making it an incredibly rich salad. The salmon on the other hand was so dry it almost became dust when touching it. Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration but frankly, it was so dry, it was almost not eatable.
The waiter on the other hand did a great job and was very friendly and forthcoming – and every order I had placed was executed within a very short period of time. The prices are okay but more on the European side than on the Bahraini side – which is also true for “Badoit, 0,75l” (2.800 BHD). Still, Paul’s offers kind of a healthy option if you are looking for one.
