Rather average meat experience – and worse than in Dubai: Restaurant The Meat Company (9. January 2018)
I have only been to the Meat Co in Dubai so far but I thought I should also give the one in Manama a try. And well, it was not as good as the one in Dubai and I have definitely eaten better meat in other restaurants which are supposedly not specialized in meat. I went for the “mushroom & spinach Vol-au-vent (sautéed mushroom and creamy spinach, served in a Vol-au-vent, topped with melted Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese)” (3.500 BHD) as a starter which was not really anything special.
The “American (CAB) Certified Angus Beef Fillet, 200gr” (18.800 BHD) sounded incredibly promising – but frankly speaking, it was a bit of a disappointment. The meat was definitely tender but the way it was prepared wasn’t really anything spectacular but all in all more of a disappointment.
The “Béarnaise Sauce” (1.300 BHD) on the other hand was fine …
… and so was the “steamed sweet corn” (1.300 BHD).
The “bread & spread” looked marvelous but I didn’t actually try it – another day maybe. The place is quite nice in terms of interior design and the wine wall they have definitely adds to this. The service is friendly, competent and swift, so for a change nothing to complain about service.
The Meat Co. is decent and can be visited but frankly for the taste experience you get in terms of meat, I would highly recommend something else, i.e. Attic definitely offers better meat. So, all in all, the Meat Co didn’t really end up on top of my list after this visit – and the one in Dubai is definitely better.
