Incredibly bad service – never again! Restaurant Paul’s (21. January 2018)

Bad service is really just the first name here, horrible service is the whole thing! It was the Saudi vacation so the place was flooded unlike normally. But after we took our seats, it took them 5 minutes to bring the menu. Then, after we had placed the order, it took them another 10 minutes to bring the water. And, while we were a table of seven, they managed to only bring four glasses. After asking for more glasses, it took them another 5 minutes. Which is just plainly ridiculous!

As a starter I went for the “Fondue Camembert (melted Camembert cheese served with crispy Parmesan oregano bread, oven-dried tomatoes and rocca salad)” (5.900 BHD) which was a good choice. Not so much because it was ‘especially good or so’ but much more because I had something to eat in front of me after 30 minutes. Now, the Camembert wasn’t melted but more a bit creamy really. So, quite a disappointment.

The “saumon en papillote (melt in your mouth grilled salmon aromatized with fennel, baby carrot, fresh sage, onion, basil and thyme papillotte style, served aside with grilled fresh asparagus and tapenado potato souffle)” (10.900 BHD) was actually quite good as it was still nicely juicy and flavourful. However, the tapenado potato souffle wasn’t much of a taste experience.

At least the “Kiwi Juice” (2.100 BHD) was fresh and tasty. So, frankly, after the third time that the services was really not satisfactory, that was it with Paul’s. They just don’t manage to pay attention and make sure that you would get attended within a meaningful timeframe. Therefore, thanks Paul’s! That was it for good!
