Decent dishes with super friendly service: Restaurant Lily’s Factory (19. March 2018)
After my last edamame in Zurich in another Asian restaurant, I was a bit skeptical of the quality but the “edamame (green steamed soy beans with salt flakes)” (CHF 8.50) were actually good and I especially liked the large salt flakes on top of it.
The “dumplings combo (mandu with leek and soy hack, mandu with kimchi, gyoza with chicken, wantan with prawns)” (CHF 18.50) was okay. While there were four different types of dumplings, they largely tasted the same and similar.
The main course “Pad Si Yu (fried rice noodles, beef, pakana, garlic, bio egg, black soy sauce, soy sprouts)” (CHF 24.00) looked the least appealing but was actually the tastiest course of it all.
What I also quite liked was the “Chilling Blue Ice Tea (green tea from Nepal, anchan flower heads, wild bee honey, cold brewed for 15 hours), 0,5l” (CHF 6.80), especially since it was actually blue which is quite an unusual colour for foods. While the place is simple and you need to be ready to share your table with random strangers, the service really does a great job. They were readily handing me over some coins as I didn’t have any coins for the parking and I was able to just pay that in the end by credit card. Quite generous, I’d say!
